Learn By Building

Learn by building real projects from day one. As part of their homework, students are guided through projects that implement new principles. Then, in class, mentors give more individualized assistance as needed and often help students implement the same principles in different ways. While mentors are there to help, their goal is to help students create their own solutions to problems instead of teaching joust one particular approach. By the end, discussions with mentors about code consist of a two-way dialogue on the merits of various approaches or stylistic choices as opposed to questions along the lines of “how do I do this?”.

Get Mentored

Programming is hard. If it wasn’t, it wouldn’t be in such high demand. While we curate the best resources available on the internet, we recognize that programming is a craft best learned in an apprenticeship format. That’s why we maintain better than a 5:1 Student-Teacher ratio, ensuring that each student gets the personalized mentorship they need to get through the particular topics they find to be especially difficult. Our mentors also try to make themselves available via chat outside of class hours in case students have questionson the take-home projects & assignments.

Applicable & Diverse Curriculum

When we make our curriculum, we strive to provide others the learning experience we wish we had when we were learning. One of the pillars of that experience is a practical, hands-on approach to learning. The best way to learn is by doing. That’s why we have students building project after project to learn and then solidify new principles. This approach helps students develop a passion for creating solutions and confidence in their ability to design and implement those solutions. By the time students complete our Front End Web Development course, they will have built more than 20 distinct projects that they can show employers. Our curriculum is constantly being updated and improved to reflect current industry standards and modern toolsets.

What do our graduates have to say?

I'm seeing, now that I have gone through the course, that I am able to apply for jobs that are looking for front end developers or are looking for specific qualifications like HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I look at the application and I can say, "yes, I know that!" Then I look at the wage that I will be getting, and I'm just stoked!

I think the nice thing about learning to code is the flexibility. I can really do whatever I want with it. I can go get a full time job, I can do freelance work at home, or I can do something for myself. The skills are really applicable to any area of my life.
